NYMBO Update – February

Bishop Wilton Lanequest

Apologies to those riders who arrived to find that we had decided to cancel the event. Unfortunately it was obvious when we arrived that the roads were too treacherous to hold a competitive event. It hadn't snowed again and it hadn't been as cold overnight as usual recently but there was black ice everywhere. John Herring had planned an excellent course but it was all east of Bishop Wilton and therefore up on the Yorkshire Wolds. Most riders went out for a couple of hours anyway and had pleasant but slow rides in interesting conditions. The roaring fire and hot food at the Fleece was very welcome when we returned.

We will hold the Summer Lanequest here on July 15th so if you bought a map please bring it with you and you will get a £1 reduction!!

Steve & Andrea Foster have offered/agreed to plan the June Lanequest north of Leeds so any volunteers to plan the May event around Thirsk please?

Our first league event is back in the Wolds next month so let's hope the snow has gone and the ground has had time to dry out.

Don't forget that our league events are open to all riders of all abilities - with a shorter option for novices. If you intend to take part in an event please join the TCA as an Associate member on line free of charge beforehand. It will save you £1 and extra paperwork at every event. The entry fees are the same as last year except that full TCA members only get a £2 refund instead of £3 - sorry!
