DALBY MBO FINAL DETAILS 13 TH OCTOBER 2007
PLEASE READ THESE BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR CAR AND MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED!!
Travel Please allow extra time to get to Dalby Forest as it is the War Weekend in Pickering and there are road works in Thornton Dale. Follow the brown tourist signs to the Dalby Forest Drive and show the event flier to the attendant. The Forestry Commission have kindly agreed to waive the forest toll to all NYMBO riders taking part in either event this weekend. Follow the forest drive through Low Dalby. There are no facilities in the car park at High Rigg so please use the toilets before you arrive. Purple Mountain will be open for bike hire, repair, sales, wash and refreshments. Continue along the forest drive for another 1km then turn right at the NYMBO sign up to High Rigg Farm at GR864888 – not as previously written on the flier . Turn right into the farm if you are camping or have a caravan. Go straight on for a further 500m if you aren’t. Parking is in a field if dry or along the forest track if wet.
Camping is £4 per person per night payable at the farm on arrival. Showers (50p) and toilets available
Registration 12.30 - 1.30
Non TCA members must join as Associate members BEFORE you register
If you were an Associate member last year you keep the same number
There are 30 spare maps for late entries.
If you are entering on the day please complete an entry form.
Only write your email address if you are new to NYMBO or if it has changed
You will be issued with a race number which must be fastened to the front of your bike with the 4 cable ties which will be provided. Unfortunately, there is a small but significant number of riders who bring our sport into disrepute by ignoring out of bounds areas so if you see any riders doing this please make a note of their number and report it at the finish. I will then check their splits before deciding whether to disqualify them!!
Start 1.00 -2.00
Just go to the start on the forest road when you are ready
Please make sure that you clear your SI card at the CLEAR station
Controls The controls are marked 1-30 on the map with their values. They are identified by 20cm red & white markers with an SI block attached. Pairs must both use their SI card at every control to score the points. If you think that the control is completely missing don’t waste time looking for it but report it when you finish. If you think the SI card or block isn’t working, use the clipper to punch your map.
Courses 2 HOUR TIME LIMIT Map scale is 1:25,000
THE RED ROUTE IS CLEARLY MARKED AND VERY TECHNICAL. YOU ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO AVOID IT AND THERE ARE NO CONTROLS ON IT. IF YOU DO END UP ON IT YOU MUST BE RIDING IN THE DIRECTION SHOWN, IF NOT, TURN ROUND OR GET OFF!!
You can cycle anywhere in the forest unless marked out of bounds
Out of bounds areas/tracks are clearly marked and must be respected
Pairs MUST wear SI wrist bands and stay together at all times
Finish The finish is in the same place as the start.
Pairs must come through the finish at the same time.
Punch your SI card in the FINISH block next to the banner.
You must report any problems with controls when you finish.
Download Don’t forget to DOWNLOAD your SI card at the tent and hand in your hired SI card.
If you lose your hired SI card you will be charged £18 so please look after it

Updated provisional results will be displayed every 15 minutes.
All scores and times will be checked and the results posted by Monday evening.
